Current Trend

Apple remains the top buy-back brands among local consumers. Samsung manage took 2 spots among the top 10 models. In June, we see very subtle movement in price difference; only $10 in a span of one month.

We also see iPhone 8 actually increases in buy-back value. This could be caused by demand in overseas market for a phone replacement and iPhone 8 has settled at an acceptable price range within the consumer budget.

Huawei buy-back continue to feel the impact since the US announced the ban in mid-May. Although this ban was lifted in late June, it greatly affected the consumer confidence in buying Huawei phone. As a result, sellers have difficulty finding buyers to take in Huawei phone. SellUp was one of the few licensed dealers to take in used and new Huawei during the ordeal.

Samsung is preparing to launch its Note 10 in August. We foresee Samsung fans will be standing by to sell their Note 8 or Note 9 at an earlier date to avoid the price slide once the new model is launch.
