Current Trend

iPhone X (256GB) remains the top back-back models for three consecutive months.

iPhone X was the first in the history of Apple mobile phones that uses Face ID in replacement of a home button. A new camera system allow the device to scan the user face contour less than a fraction of a second, unlocking the phone instantly.

It is also the first Apple phone to use a edge-to-edge OLED screen, making it one of the most stunning display smartphone in the market.

Despite the model is two generations ago, the technology remains up to date, making it a good buy among the used phone market.

iPhone X successor, the XS series, was significantly higher in selling price. On the average, a used XS (64GB) is selling at $700 - $800 (depending on condition) whereas a iPhone X with the same capacity can be purchase $550 - $600.

The huge difference in price proves attractive for buyers who willing to settle for former model.

iPhone X
iPhone X comes in 64GB or 256GB. Available in Silver or Space Grey color.
iPhone 7 buy-back volume drop slightly in month of November. It is foreseeable due to the fact most users already sold off their iPhone 7 during past few months.

But it remains one of the most sort after model. Market selling price range from $240 - $300 still prove this is a steal for users who wants a good performance and compact phone.

Apple is said to be preparing its first mid-range phone since the iPhone SE, probably in 2020.

The new model is said to be similar to the 4.7-inch iPhone 7/8. We are pretty sure if this phone is to be release, remaining users still holding on to iPhone 7 and 8 will sell off for an upgrade.

iPhone 7 and 8 did not have significant difference in appearance except a glass back for the newer model (right).
iPhone 8 was debut in Sept 2017. It Is the last model of iPhone which comes with a Fingerprint ID.

We notice the buy-back trend indicate iPhone 8 Plus are selling off more than the smaller screen iPhone 8. We could only assume users with bigger screen are trading off to upgrade to XS Max or iPhone 11 Pro Max.

The smaller screen users are still holding on to it as there is no similar replacement for the 4.7-inch screen phone.

One series did not make it to the chart in Nov - XR, XS and XS Max. This model buy-back was rather weak and volume did not make it the top 10.

We suspect many potential buyers are adopting ‘wait and see’ approach for the price to dip further before they laid their hands on this series.

Samsung Note 10 and S10 price slide the most significantly. Telcos are running promotion and even offering the these model at $0 top up for some plans. This cause subscribers to sell at a lower price which cause a price slide.

Resellers also see a low demand in overseas market for Samsung high end models. This further send the price tumbling.
