Current Trend

What a joyous month for Apple fans!

Apple has released their new iPhone series - The iPhone 11, which see consumers snapping up the stocks on the first day of launch.

It is also a month of high trade-in volume, where we see a record number of customers selling their used devices to switch to the new phones.

It is no surprise to see Apple took up 9 out of 10 spots in the top 10 trade-in devices in September. Apple users took the opportunity to cash out their used iPhone once they have upgraded to the latest iPhone 11.

iPhone X
iPhone X (256GB) took the top spot for the highest volume of trade-in. Despite the spike in the selling of this model, the price drop is somehow very minimum as compared to the phone value.

We notice only a $50 difference in trade-in value from $790 to $740.

iPhone X (256GB) was launch in 2017 at a price tag of $1,888.00. For a phone that is two years of age, a near 40% buy-back value is considered pretty good!

This shows that the market is still looking out for this model, hence holding up the price steadily.
iPhone 8
iPhone 8 and 8 Plus was launch in the same year as iPhone X. We also notice an increased volume for this model, in particular, iPhone 8 Plus (64GB) which trades at $420.

The most significant price drop is iPhone XS Max (256GB). This model sees the price slides from $1230 to $1030 within a month.

We foresee this price will continue to fall in October as demand for it is not as high due to the high price tag for a used phone.

The only Andriod phone that remains in the chart is Huawei P30 Pro. This model is holding its price steadily, seeing only a $20 price dropped.

It is mainly due to the market demand for this model because of its camera capability and outstanding hardware features.

Following closely behind is Samsung Note 9 (11th position) and Samsung S10e (12th position).
